Intel Core M-5Y10
The Intel Core M-5Y10 is an ULV (ultra-low voltage) dual-core SoC based on the Broadwell architecture launched in September 2014. Thanks to its TDP of just 4.5 W, the CPU is suited for passively cooled tablets and 2-in-1 notebooks. In addition to two CPU cores with Hyper-Threading clocked at 0.8 - 2.0 GHz, the chip also integrates an HD Graphics 5300 GPU and a dual-channel LPDDR3/DDR3L(-RS) memory controller up to 25.6 GB/s. The chip is manufactured in a 14 nm process with FinFET transistors.
While the Core M-5Y10 supports "Config Down TDP" for an optional TDP of only 4 W, the very similar 5Y10a doesn't.
Broadwell, Haswell'deki küçülmeyi simgeliyor. Yeni 3 boyutlu FinFET transistörlerle desteklenen 14nm üretim teknolojisi sadece enerji verimliliğini değil aynı zamanda daha küçük cihazlarda işlemcilerin kullanımını da mümkün kılıyor.
Diğer avantajlar ise Broadwell mimarisinin üzerinde yapılan değişikliklerle sağlanıyor. Daha büyük tampın boyutları ve zamanlayıcılar sayesinde önceki versiyona göre saat hızı başına performans %5 kadar artmış durumda. Kriptografik uygulamalar için de yeni komut setleri bulunmakta.
Core M-5Y10 0.8-2.0 GHz aralığında geniş bir Turbo hızına sahip. Bu hızın büyük ölçüde güç tüketimi ile kısıtlanacağını düşünüyoruz. Benzer Core i5-4202Y ile benzer olan işlemci kısa testlerde benzer performans verirken yoğun kullanımda bu değerler düşücektir. Broadwell'in asıl amacı saf performansı arttırmak yerine enerji tüketimini azaltmak olarak açıklanabilir.
Genel olarak Core M-5Y70 ofis ve gündelik işlemler için yeterli olacaktır.
Dahili HD Graphics 5300, 24 işlem ünitesine sahip ve 100-850 MHz hızı aralığında. İşlemci çekirdeği gibi grafik mimarisi de (Intel Gen 8) oldukça değiştirilmiş ve saat hızı başına performansı geliştirilmiş. Yine de grafik kartı frekansı da güç tüketimince limitlenecektir. Bu da eski HD 4200'e göre yoğun kullanımda artan performansın azalması demek olacak. Mevcut oyunlar düşük detaylat ve çözünürlüklerde oynanabilir.
Broadwell; DirectX 11.2, OpenCL 1.3/2.0 ve OpenGL 4.3 destekleyen ilk intel çipi. Görüntü DisplayPort 1.2 veya HDMI 1.4a üzerinden verilebilmekte. Ancak yeni HDMI 2.0 halen resmi olarak desteklenmemekte.
Sadece 4.5 W ile işlemci farkedilir şekilde Haswell Y serisinden daha az güç tüketmekte. Bu da işlemcinin pasif soğutulan ince tabletlerde bile kullanılmasına imkan sağlamakta.
