Intel Core i5-2557M

Intel Core i5-2557M küçük laptoplar için güç tasarruflu bir islemci. 1.7 GHzlik temel saat hizi çok düsük olmasina karsin, Turbo Boost sayesinde 2.7GHz saat hizina kadar çikilabilmekte. Ancak bu kullanilan laptopun sogutma kapasitesi ve güç tüketimine bagli. HyperThreading sayesinde i5-2557M 4 komutu paralel olarak isleyebilmekte. Core i7-2657M ile kiyaslanildiginda i5 islemci daha düsük bir cache kapasitesine sahip olmasina karsin, daha yüksek temel saat hizlarina sahip.
Sandy Bridge, Arrandale teknolojisinin devrimsel yeni versiyonu olarak tanimlanabilir. En önemli gelistirmelerden biri Turbo 2.0 ve dahili grafik kartinin 32nm islemci çekirdegine entegre edilmesi.
Dahili Intel HD Graphics 3000, 350 veya 1200MHz(Turbo Boost) saat hizlarina çikabilmekte. Turbo olmadan saat hizinin düsük kalmasindan dolayi 35W ve 45W güç destekli islemcilerde kullanilan HD Graphics 3000'ler ile kiyaslanildiginda performansi net bir sekilde daha düsük.
Islemcinin performansi ayni saat hizina sahip Arrandale Core i5 islemcilerden biraz daha iyi. Turbo Boost frekanslari sayesinde performans Core i3-2330M ile benzer sayilabilir. Ancak Turbo Boost'un rahat çalilabilmesi için laptopun sogutma sisteminin iyi çalismasi ve islemciyi soguk tutmasi gerekli.
17 Wattlik güç tüketimi GPU ve bellek kontrolörünü de kapsamakta. Bu da islemciyi küçük laptoplarda kullanim için ideal kilmakta.
