MSI CX61 önceki versiyonuna göre kesinlikle daha iyi. Performans yönünden özellikle batarya modundayken oldukça tatmin edici. Full HD ekran iyi olmakla beraber parlak ve siyahlık yönünden zengin. Mat ekranı sayesinde dış mekanlarda da kullanılabilir.

Eleştrilebilecek yönleri arasında ise kötü üretim kalitesi ve yüksek güç tüketimi söylenebilir. Arayüzler de iyi özellikleri arasında nitelendirilemez. Klavye de arka ışıklandırma bulunmamakta.
