Microsoft, Lumia 535 modeline göre yüksek bir ücret talep etse de LTE desteği ve daha yüksek çözünürlüklü ekran gibi özellikleri de sunuyor. Lumia 535 modelinde çıkarılabilir batarya, Micro-SD ve değiştirilebilir ekran kapağı gibi özellikler vardı ve bunlar aynen korunmuş. Lumia 550 modeli biraz daha küçük ve Window 10 mobile işletim sisteminin bazı sorunları ile uğraşıyor.

Genel olaral Lumia 550 çok uygun bir fiyata sahip makul bir akıllı telefon ve gündelik işler için yeterince performans sunuyor.

Kasa iyi bir izlenim bırakıyor ancak baskıya karşı duyarlı. Sinyal alımı iyi, ses kalitesi tatmin ediyor ve ana kamera iyi sayılabilecek fotoğraflar çekiyor. Ekran parlak ve içeriği düzgün şekilde yansıtıyor. Performans rutin işler için ideal. Batarya kullanımı günlük işleri için yeterli. Microsoft güç tüketimini ve işletim sistemini tekrar elden geçirebilir.
