28nm Solar serisi tabanlı üst sınıf AMD grafik kartı. 7970M ile kıyaslanıldığında 8970M sadece 50MHz fazla saat hızına sahip.
Oyun oynamak isteyen kullanıcılar için en son seçenek. Yeni oyunlar bu kartlarda çalışacaktır, ama sadece düşük detaylar ve orta çözünürlükte.
