The mid-2021 Acer Predator Helios 300 is a hardware bump of the previous generations, and now ships with an 8Core 11th gen Intel i7 processor by default, as well as a mid-powered 80-100W RTX 3000 graphics chips, paired with faster memory, storage, and fair-quality screens. And while the design is starting to show its age here and there, this is now more powerful than in the past and remains an excellently balanced mid-tier performance/gaming notebook, as well as one of the most aggressively priced options in its class.

The Acer Predator Helios 300 offers excellent bang for the buck, packing not just the latest gen hardware but also offering enough room for future upgrades. It’s a large, bulky machine, mind you and you will not like to carry this outside in a backpack. But at home, with the power cable plugged and perched on a desktop, the Predator Helios 300 just purrs. The higher power limit translates to a real-time improvement in gaming and creative workloads, and an excellent display complements it. The keyboard is also quite comfortable to use, and you get a massive choice of ports. But where you’re going to compromise is the audio quality, which is just horrible, and the portability because no one likes to tug around a 5-pound laptop in their bag. At this price, however, there are very few gaming laptops that will offer what the Acer Predator Helios 300 does.

This year's edition of the Acer Predator Helios 300 delivers solid gaming performance and value, but doesn't quite show the sizzle we expect from an Editors' Choice gaming laptop. As we said, the MSI Katana GF66 looks awfully good with a larger solid-state drive for $100 less, but its price may be slightly higher outside Micro Center (the source of our test unit) and the Acer has a better display. That makes it a toss-up; competition among $1,100 to $1,300 gaming laptops is so intense you really want to look for new entries or discounts on a week-to-week basis.

So there you have it, our review of the Acer Predator Helios 300 (2021). Based on everything I’ve discussed so far, you might have already guessed that I’m pretty fond of this gaming laptop. It features a solid build quality and an almost-excellent display—barring the brightness level of course. Apart from this, the Helios 300 delivers an equally impressive gaming performance, backed by an effective cooling solution. It’s just that the bold visual flair of the Predator lineup feels unapologetically classic as we head on to 2022. And maybe Acer could’ve given an AMD option as well considering all the strides team red had made with its Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors. Unfortunately, even the 2022 iteration of Helios 300 laptops favor Intel CPU—although that doesn’t necessarily feel like a bad thing this time considering how Alder Lake looks superior to AMD’s Zen 3+ based Rembrandt CPUs. But only time will tell just how much of that is true.

Speaking about price, it can be crazy sometimes, at the moment, this laptop is a few hundred bucks cheaper than the 10th Gen variant. In a few days, it’s possible that this unit also jumps up in price, too. In summary, is this the perfect gaming laptop out there? no, it is not. And of course, there are other laptops that have higher specifications than this one. But at this price point, this Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-760S gaming laptop as a total package is spectacular! The 2021 Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-760S with its 11th gen i7 CPU and RTX 3060 GPU is indeed not a perfect gaming laptop, but at this price point, it has many spectacular features that we appreciate.

The Acer Predator Helios 300 (2021) offers gamers powerful performance paired with a colorful display and a comfortable keyboard. The Acer PH315-54-760S model we’ve reviewed is priced fairly considering its GeForce RTX 3060 GPU, but competition is stiff – for the same rice or a little more, the Alienware m15, Gigabyte Aero 15 XC, and HP Omen 15 offer eight-core processors, better GPUs and more advanced features. The Helios 300’s ace in the hole is its price, and being the base model, it’s still more than capable of 1080p gaming thanks to its GeForce RTX 3060 – just like its more costly models with RTX 3070 GPU. Its outstanding partial metal design, good port selection, and nifty one-button overclocking help it stand out against the competition.

The Acer Predator Helios 300 is great for gamers and content creators who want a laptop that will serve as a desktop alternative. The laptop’s chunky design and poor battery life hold back its portability, but that’s less of an issue if you rarely move it. This underlines the strange state of PC gaming hardware in 2021: supply constraints have led to high prices and spotty availability. In a typical year, buying a laptop as a desktop alternative would mean paying a premium for lackluster performance. The Helios 300 shows that, in the strange year that is 2021, a chunky laptop might be the most practical choice.

This laptop embodies everything I’ve been missing in consoles and cheaper laptops: it is the ultimate entertainment and productivity hub. Of course, being ultimate is not easy – both literally and figuratively. But if you decide to take the difficult but fruitful path of PC gaming, the Acer Predator Helios 300 will be a good companion that will bring you many great hours of gaming and more. And, let me repeat, does anyone want to buy an Xbox Series S? The reason for selling: Acer Predator Helios 300 converted me to PC Master Race.

Hemen hemen aynı çekirdeğe sahip olsalarda, clock hızları farklı olduğu için biraz yavaş kaldıkları aşikar. Yeni oyunlar ( F.E.A.R., Company of Heroes gibi) yüksek çözünürlük ve full detaylarda çalışacaktır.
