Here’s a simple question: what do you ask from your laptop, apart from the basic things like battery life and performance? If your answer to that is a “nice display”, this laptop more than ticked that box. Apart from that, the ASUS Vivobook 15X OLED offers solid performance for daily office tasks, and even some moderate multitasking if you’re really pushing it. That said, a few minor issues on the speakers and graphics definitely held back its potential as a great media machine. The asking price of RM3,299 for this particular configuration is nothing short of amazing value at least.

It was one of the most performant notebook computer out of all the other modern laptops which we’ve compared it with, and also gave us a great experience while viewing multimedia content. We didn’t really see any tradeoffs that ASUS has made on the Vivobook 15X OLED to keep it in an affordable price range. At S$1,699, the ASUS Vivobook 15X OLED may be priced at a higher end for Vivobook notebook computers, but it’s justified with its premium features which are only found within more expensive notebooks. With the value it brings at this price tag, we would safely recommend this notebook for users who want to enjoy a full PC experience (except PC gaming) without compromises. Of course, personally, I wouldn’t mind using this as a daily driver for both work and play.

Asus Vivobook 15X (K3504) Review – An Uneventful Laptop

The price for the ASUS Vivobook 15X (K3504) is RM3,199 – as far as value goes, I’d say there definitely is more value to be had elsewhere if you really want to maximize every last bit of the value you’re willing to pay for. By itself, it’s not really an exciting product, but it’s rarely the case in laptops of this class anyway. Still, what you get for this price is a fairly performant machine, if not slightly flawed in some minor aspects that some may accept or ignore depending on their priorities. However, the company also sells the AMD version of this laptop which uses the Ryzen 7 7730U (effectively an updated version of Ryzen 7 6800U), and if the previous-gen Zenbook S 13 OLED is any indication, the chip should perform even better than what Intel is offering here, all while maintaining the same specs elsewhere but adds an RM100 premium on the price tag. There’s also another rather interesting question:

One reason for that is that the last year model, M1503, pretty much crushed it with better screen since it is an OLED panel, higher refresh rate, wider resolution, and use of AMD mobile processor that provides way more performance via its Radeon Graphics iGPU. Therefore, you may treat it as the M1503 being way too good, thus making the K3405 somehow missing the mark. And yes, the M1504 still has a Numpad.
