Given the Dell Latitude 5300‘s price and features, I wouldn’t recommend it. Although PCMag gave it a rating of 3.5 out of 5, it’s far too expensive to competitive. I see laptops with Intel Core i7 processors and 16GB of RAM on a regular basis that cost less than the Dell Latitude 5300, and those systems would undoubtedly perform better due to their superior hardware.

The Dell Latitude 5300 2-in-1 lacks the wow factor—light weight, aluminum design, and futuristic proximity sensor—of the Latitude 7400 2-in-1. Many business users (or, more accurately stated, IT department managers), however, are willing to cast aside such niceties for a better bottom line. And the 5300 convertible does just that—it drops the flashy aspects of its more spendy sibling to deliver a solid, well-rounded hybrid at a more approachable price. It offers Intel's latest silicon inside a sturdy, compact design that delivers strong performance and tremendous battery life. You may want to date the Latitude 7400 2-in-1, but you'll end up happily married to the Latitude 5300 2-in-1—with your office's budget manager performing the ceremony.

Dell Latitude 5300 is another very strong offering from the newly refreshed Latitude line up. In fact, it is very suitable for business solutions that require a multi-factor login, as well as 24/7 support and most importantly – reliability. Not only on the software side but also on the hardware. Indeed, $1200 bucks for a 13-inch business notebook have to be justified. By the way, we are talking about that price tag, despite it not being the cheapest offering for this laptop, however, we are pretty confident that there won’t be many people buying the $849 Latitude 5300, since it comes with a Core i3-8145U, 4GB of memory and a 768p TN screen.

This means that you have to stay with the same RAM configuration, until the end of the lifespan of the device. Ultimately, it is good that Dell sets up the memory in dual-channel mode, when you get a laptop with at least 8GB of RAM.

Well, to keep it short, the biggest selling point of this notebook is clearly the display its touchscreen IPS panel (LG V0GPY-133WF7 (LGD05DC)) has a Full HD resolution, very good contrast ratio, comfortable viewing angles, and wide color coverage of about 94% of the sRGB gamut. Moreover, its backlight doesn’t flicker at any level, and thanks to our Gaming and Web design profile, it achieves great color accuracy. This makes it appropriate for presentations, and some design work.

The Dell Latitude 13 5340 has the potential to be a great office machine thanks to its good comfort under load. Also, this device is a fine choice for hybrid workers or people who are on the go often because of its low weight and compact dimensions. The overall body rigidity is on point. All that is complemented by the great keyboard and the smooth and accurate touchpad. Short and medium loads, the playground of most office machines – this is the area where this laptop shines bright with its high clocks. The frequencies in long stress are decent which is a good result considering the unpretentious-looking cooling system. The upgradability is expectedly limited – soldered RAM and just one M.2 slot. Not only that, but the slot is compatible with the short 2230 SSDs. In our case, the KIOXIA BG6 NVMe also gets hot under stress.
