The Yoga 7i is an attractive 2-in-1 laptop with good performance for work and nothing more, but consumers may think twice about getting one due to the starting price of RM5939. Note - that's just the starting price for the model that we reviewed. If this is too expensive for you, Lenovo also offers another variant starting from RM4809, featuring a 12th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and 512GB SSD storage, but without a stylus. Apart from Lenovo, there are other 2-in-1 laptops such as the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 9315 at RM5999 or the Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 7420 at RM3399. The choice is yours.

Lenovo Yoga 7i (14″, 2023)’s touchscreen OLED panel has comfortable viewing angles, quick pixel response times, and an infinite contrast ratio, which is a result of the True black colors.

Thanks to the smooth 360-degree hinge, you can use the laptop as a normal clamshell machine, in a tent mode for presentations in the office, or in a tablet mode when you want to draw something on the screen (or just browse the Web when you are laying in your cozy bed). The comfort under load is great even when the CPU is pushed to its limits – the keyboard feels just a little warm and the fan is almost quiet. This reminds us that the clocks of the optional Core Ultra 7 155H are decently high, or at least in short and medium loads which should be the main playground of such a machine. In longer stress, the frequencies are lower as well as the chip temperature.

The OLED display is great for content consumption and creative work, but you can pay more and get the 2.8K OLED panel with 120Hz refresh for an even better experience. The only drawbacks are the speakers and the inability to upgrade storage. Overall, though, the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 is an easy-to-recommend 2-in-1 laptop.

Its performance and battery life are fine for anyone with less money to spend, and in fact, the Yoga is faster and longer-lasting than many laptops that cost a lot more. It’s also well-built and has a very good keyboard. The one weakness, poor display colors, might not matter to most productivity users. The display isn’t bad, exactly — it’s just not as good as some others. But overall, the Yoga 7 14 Gen 9 is relatively easy to recommend at $699. I just wouldn’t spend any more.

That’s a multipurpose small transformer with snappy hardware and NVMe. Speaking of which, the 1TB SK Hynix HFS001TEJ4X112N SSD may be fast but it also gets toasty during benchmarking, unlike the CPU whose temperature is always within reasonable limits. This reminds us that the processor can maintain decent clocks in short and medium loads but the frequencies drop down below the official base values in longer stress. Aside from that, this small fella always feels fast, especially for normal home or office usage.

As for the Yoga 7, very little can be said about the AMD version. The Yoga 7 is a decent laptop thanks to solid productivity performance and the sturdy Yoga chassis we love, but you’re better off investing in the Intel alternative, considering it boasts the same benefits but significantly better battery life. We’re not just talking about an hour or two difference here: The Yoga 7i lasted five hours longer than the Yoga 7. The result is a laptop that works fine in a vacuum, but we highly recommend spending the extra money on the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1, as you won’t regret how much extra juice it brings. If you’d rather not dish out the extra cash, the Yoga 7 is worthwhile in enough avenues.

It is a solid choice for anyone looking for powerful a 2-in-1 laptop for everyday use. We will add that for ₹85,000, the base variant offers good value for money for what is on offer. While you don’t get the OLED display, the Core Ultra 5 125U in the base variant isn’t that much slower than the Ultra 5 125H in terms of performance. However, the OLED display on the Ultra 5 125H model we tested offers much crisper visuals and vibrant colours. If your use case demands the colour accurate OLED display – such as for photo or video editing, then the premium does shoot up. That said, at ₹1,01,990 the Lenovo Yoga 7 is still competitively priced when compared to other similarly specced OLED 2-in-1s in the market right now and even manages to outperform pricier competitors.
